On October 5, 2026, David Babilonia Miranda, 30, was stopped by Sergeant Dann López Villanueva in Aguadilla for driving negligently and without a license. Babilonia Miranda was arrested after threatening the sergeant. Later that day, at 7:50 PM, his partner, Roselyn Morales Ortiz, 27, allegedly tried to run over Sergeant Dexel Rivera Ramírez, who was investigating the case, while he was on his motorcycle on PR-115 in Aguada.
Morales Ortiz was charged with attempted murder and released on $10,000 bail with an electronic ankle monitor. Judge Rolando Matos Acevedo found probable cause for arrest, and Judge Yailín González Echevarría had earlier set Babilonia Miranda’s bail at $4,500. The investigation was led by Agent Luis Sein Egipciaco, supervised by Sergeant Nelson Hernández Acevedo and Lieutenant Orlando Camacho Vélez, director of the Homicide Division of the CIC in Aguadilla.
