Why this matters: For drivers in Bayamón, the incident highlights the potential for road rage to escalate into violent confrontations, and the importance of reporting such incidents to the authorities.

The Puerto Rico Police seized a firearm from the driver of a white Toyota RAV4 after a video on social media allegedly showed him pointing the gun at a driver who had collided with him in Bayamón. According to Police spokesperson Jessica Pérez Cámara, the individual had reported a hit-and-run incident at the Bayamón Sur precinct.

In the video, the man is seen gesturing with his left hand while holding the firearm in his right hand and shouting insults at the driver of a black Toyota Yaris. After learning of the video, Agent David Mercado contacted the complainant and, as part of the investigation, seized the firearm. The police are also seeking to locate the person at whom the gun was allegedly pointed to continue the investigation, which will be joined by the Bayamón Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC), Pérez Cámara confirmed. The incident occurred after a collision between the two vehicles.
