One of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau’s 10 most wanted from the Bayamón police area was arrested on an aggravated abuse charge tied to a domestic violence case, and officers seized a firearm and controlled substances while serving the warrant, the police reported. The investigation dates to the afternoon of August 12, 2026, when Miguel Soto Oquendo, 31, a resident of Dorado, allegedly assaulted his partner.
Agent José González, assigned to Bayamón’s Gender Violence Division, consulted the case with prosecutor Javier Rivera, who ordered charges filed. Evidence was presented in absentia before Bayamón Court of First Instance Judge Juan Portell, who found probable cause for arrest and issued a warrant with a $25,000 bond. While serving the warrant, agent Rafael Rivera of Bayamón’s Intelligence and Special Arrests Division seized the firearm and controlled substances.
The case was consulted with the on-duty prosecutor, who ordered additional charges under Article 404 of the Controlled Substances Act and Article 6.05 of Puerto Rico’s Weapons Law. Judge Carolina Guzmán found probable cause on all charges and set an additional $55,000 bond. After failing to post bond, Soto Oquendo was taken to Correctional Institution 705 in Bayamón.
