On Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:58 AM, the 9-1-1 Emergency System received a call about a serious traffic accident between two motorcycles on PR-129 highway, at kilometer 30.5, in the La América sector of the Buenos Aires neighborhood, in Lares. According to a preliminary investigation, 70-year-old Juan Inostroza Martínez was driving a 2003 Honda VT750 motorcycle and made an improper left turn, invading the opposite lane and colliding with another motorcycle, a 2023 Chuan, driven by 39-year-old Joseph González Lugo.
As a result of the accident, Inostroza Martínez suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. González Lugo was also taken to a local hospital, where he received medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition. Agent René Fuentes Mercado, from the Utuado Highway Patrol Division, is in charge of the investigation under the supervision of Sergeant Carlos Feliciano Cruz.
