The Magos de Aguas Buenas basketball team announced the start of their eighth consecutive season in the Puerto Rico Basketball League (LBP) with a press conference, where they presented the details of the new season. The team, led by owner Osvaldo Guzmán, general manager Noel Colón Coriano, and assistant coach Carlos Serrano, has high expectations after eight years of growth and development in the semi-professional league.
This season, the team is dedicating their efforts to the children of the Adaptada en Acción program, a municipal initiative that promotes inclusion and participation in adaptive basketball for children with functional diversity. The program, directed by Omar 'Omy' Rivera, currently has over 30 participants and aims to provide opportunities for them to develop their skills and enjoy the benefits of physical activity in an inclusive environment.
The mayor of Aguas Buenas, Karina Nieves Serrano, highlighted the team’s trajectory and the significance of this dedication, which recognizes the municipality’s efforts to promote access to sports for children with functional diversity. The season’s inaugural game is scheduled for November 6 at the Coliseo Samuel 'Sammy' Rodríguez in Aguas Buenas.
