Aguas Buenas is an inland town and municipality in Puerto Rico's North region, set in the Central Mountain Range about 14 miles from San Juan. It covers roughly 78 square kilometers divided into nine barrios plus the Aguas Buenas Pueblo, with a population of approximately 24,223 as of 2020.
The municipality lies north of Cidra, south of Bayamón, Guaynabo and San Juan, east of Comerío, and northwest of Caguas, and it forms part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Founded in 1838, Aguas Buenas is popularly known as "La Ciudad de las Aguas Claras," or "The City of Clear Waters," a nickname tied to its mountain setting.
