Hiram Torres Montalvo, the newly elected mayor of Cataño, will be sworn in this Saturday at 5:00 PM in a town hall event. The ceremony will be followed by a town party with invited artists. Torres Montalvo has begun sharing details of the event on his Facebook account, inviting Cataño residents to attend and expressing his gratitude for being selected for the role.
He has promised to deliver a clean, transparent, and responsive government that prioritizes the needs of the community. Torres Montalvo was selected as the new mayor in a late September town election held by the New Progressive Party to replace former mayor Julio Alicea Vasallo. It is still unclear when Torres Montalvo will resign from his current position as secretary of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO).
