A 50-year-old woman, Cristina Isabel Orsini Rodríguez, from Camuy, died at the Río Piedras Medical Center due to injuries sustained after falling over 10 feet in Arecibo. The incident occurred around 12:08 AM on October 11 near García Park, where Orsini Rodríguez reportedly jumped a concrete wall, walked on a platform, slipped, and fell onto rocks.
Emergency Medical Services and the Arecibo and Barceloneta Fire Department Bureau responded to the scene, provided initial aid, and rescued her. Orsini Rodríguez was initially taken to a local hospital before being treated at the Río Piedras Medical Center. Agent Carlos Cruz Román of the Arecibo Criminal Investigations Corps’ Homicide Division will continue the investigation, according to the Police. Orsini Rodríguez had been hospitalized since Sunday, October 11.
