In Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, a 20-year-old driver, Adarielys Marie Camilo Cumba, has been charged by the Prosecution Office in connection with an accident in April that killed one person and injured three. The driver allegedly was under the influence of alcohol when she crashed into two parked vehicles and then hit several pedestrians on the road.
One of the pedestrians died, and three were injured, including Luis Rivera Bonilla, who spoke to NotiCentro about the impact of the accident on his life and family. 'It has been painful,' Rivera Bonilla said. 'This has been a significant change in my life and my family’s life. This new way of living has been painful.'
Judge Jenny Malavé Núñez of the Aibonito Court of First Instance found probable cause for arrest on all charges presented by the Prosecution Office and set a global bond of $101,000. The defendant will be under electronic supervision, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 30.
