Puerto Rico will have a Sunday with showers and thunderstorms that could cause localized flooding, mainly in the interior, west and northwest of the island. Weak winds will favor the slow movement of some rain, which could produce significant accumulations in specific sectors. For Sunday, scattered showers are expected during the morning, followed by a greater chance of rain and possible thunderstorms after midday.

The high will be around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with a 60% chance of rain and estimated accumulations between a quarter and half an inch. Winds will shift from variable to easterly during the morning, at 9 to 14 miles per hour with gusts up to 20 mph. At night, scattered showers are expected before 9:00 PM and isolated showers after midnight, with a low near 78 degrees, south-southeast winds of 5 to 7 mph and a 30% chance of rain.

For Monday, scattered showers are forecast before midday and showers with isolated thunderstorms between midday and 3:00 PM, then scattered showers continuing, with a high again near 90 degrees, a 50% chance of rain and east winds of 8 to 13 mph. Along the coasts, north swell will begin to diminish, but more adverse maritime conditions are expected Monday night, with higher waves and dangerous currents, peaking Tuesday. Heat remains a limited risk factor, mainly from late morning to early afternoon.
