Drivers in Puerto Rico are starting the work week with lower gasoline prices, according to data published Monday, October 19, by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO). Regular gasoline sells for between $1.14 and $1.18 per liter ($4.30–$4.46 a gallon), down from $1.17 to $1.20 the previous Monday. Premium gasoline now runs between $1.27 and $1.38 per liter ($4.80–$5.21 a gallon), compared with $1.30 to $1.40 last week, a drop of up to three cents per liter at the bottom of the range.
Diesel sells between $1.50 and $1.56 per liter ($5.67–$5.89 a gallon), a two-cent reduction at its maximum price. The decreases are a favorable change for consumers after increases recorded in early October. DACO, through its Economic Studies Division, monitors fuel prices in Puerto Rico and their relationship with fluctuations in the international oil market.
Although the week begins with reductions across several grades, prices may change in the coming days depending on market conditions and each service station.
