Actress and communicator Lexamarie Matos, a Toa Alta native, will take the stage with her husband, Colombian content creator Lucas Orjuela Correa, to host the new edition of the traditional Festival El Josco on Sunday, October 25. The cultural event features a 'Puerto Rico and Colombia Get-Together' dedicated to the music, gastronomy and customs of both peoples.
The couple will bring to the town’s public plaza the bicultural, spontaneous dynamic they share daily on social media through their project 'Una Boricua y un Parcero', a digital platform born from their 2018 marriage that humorously documents life and the exchange of expressions between Puerto Rico and Colombia. For Matos, the festival marks a special return to her hometown as host of its most representative celebration.
The event permanently pays tribute to Toa Alta’s roots and the literary legacy of Abelardo Díaz Alfaro, author of the emblematic story 'El Josco', considered a pillar of the identity of the town known as the 'Ciudad del Josco'. Matos has appeared in Puerto Rican productions such as 'Los mecánicos’ and 'Padres’ and runs the academy Auténtica by Lexamarie, focused on modeling, refinement and performing arts, with an active program for including the deaf community on the island. The festival runs all Sunday at the Toa Alta public plaza with free admission.
