Why this matters: Travelers flying out of Luis Muñoz Marín face relocated TSA inspection and check-in operations in Terminal B, though no flights were affected at the time of the report.

A security situation unfolded at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after a suspicious object was detected in Terminal A. Aerostar Puerto Rico reported that the Puerto Rico Police’s specialized explosives unit was at the airport handling the situation.

As a precautionary measure, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) inspection services and airline check-in counter operations were temporarily moved to the central area of Terminal B. Authorities have not specified what type of object was found, and no flights had been affected so far.

Passengers are being asked to follow instructions from security staff, authorities, and their respective airlines while the situation is addressed.
