Why this matters: For Puerto Rican holiday traditions, Manuelle’s parranda albums have become a staple of family gatherings and Christmas music on the island.

Puerto Rican salsa singer Víctor Manuelle premiered "La gozadera en Navidad," a collaboration with merengue star Elvis Crespo, during the Billboard Latin Music Awards, kicking off the release of his new Christmas album "La parranda es nuestra." The album compiles memorable tracks from his earlier holiday projects alongside two new songs, "Me preguntó un extranjero" and "La gozadera en Navidad."

It features collaborations with Gilberto Santa Rosa on "Ya se ven las bombillitas," Tito Nieves on "Yo me voy para mi tierra," José Alberto "El Canario" on "Quiero parranda," Joseph Fonseca on "Los Polvos del Sáhara," and Alfonso Vélez "El Fua" on "Metido en el celular." Manuelle, born in Isabela, said he thought of Crespo while working on the song because the two already share the hit "El cuerpo me pide," and sent it to him once he heard its Caribbean rhythms and plena.

Crespo, in a promotional video, called the pairing a winning combination that continues a classic of Puerto Rican Christmas music. Last year, Manuelle drew public attention with "PR en Navidad" and "No dejes que cante el gago." He said the new track will be "the theme of Christmas 2026 for the gozadera."
