Karla Rivera Sánchez, sister of William Rivera Sánchez, the man who confessed to killing lawyer Luis Quiñones González and former activist Félix Plaud de Choudens, on Monday night condemned false messages being shared about her family after a fake Facebook news post announced her supposed death by gunfire, which never happened. The page, posing as a news outlet, claimed she had been shot with six bullet impacts.

Responding to the post, she wrote that people act as "judges, witnesses, jurors, lawyers, fraud specialists" to judge "Willito" and now want to create chaos by announcing her death, adding that she is fine and asking people to stop, saying her nerves can take no more chaos and that families are still suffering. According to the Police, Rivera Sánchez killed Plaud de Choudens on Thursday, October 22, in Guayama, and Quiñones González on Friday, October 23, after he left the First Instance Court in Ponce.

The motive was a debt of thousands of dollars tied to an investment to open two medical cannabis dispensaries that never materialized; the money was never returned, and only Plaud de Choudens partially responded when sued. Rivera Sánchez said Quiñones González avoided a lawsuit because the company they did business through declared bankruptcy. Shortly after, in a confusing incident, he took his own life that Friday at his home in Santa Isabel.
