A 38-year-old man was shot Friday afternoon in front of a commercial establishment at the intersection of Reina and Miramar streets in Ponce and later died, the Puerto Rico Police reported. The preliminary report states the incident was called in at 2:19 PM, when authorities were alerted to a man with gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as José Alexander González Matos, 38.
He was transported to a medical facility in the area, where he died. The case is in the hands of the Ponce Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC).
