Puerto Rico authorities said Thursday that charges have been filed against a man accused of stealing the car of the father of 'Gongo Fishing', an influencer whose full first names are José L. Morales Berrios. The theft happened around 7:00 PM. Tuesday on PR-173, Santa Clara sector, in the Sumidero neighborhood of Aguas Buenas. According to the police report, Morales Berrios arrived home, noticed his father’s 1994 green Toyota Tercel missing, spotted it being driven by someone else, chased it, intercepted it, and carried out a civilian arrest.
The suspect was identified as Ely Saul Enrique Ortiz Rodríguez, 36. Charges were filed against Ortiz Rodríguez for breaking and entering and illegal appropriation as a misdemeanor. Bail was set at $15,000; unable to post it, he was jailed in Bayamón. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for November 10, 2026.
