The Puerto Rico Police Bureau’s Stolen Vehicles Division in Arecibo seized three cars for investigation and confiscated another during interventions carried out between October 26 and 29, 2026, as part of efforts against motor vehicle-related crimes. The operations were conducted in coordination with the Apprehension and Intervention section and the Confidential Affairs and Organized Crime section, under the direction of Lieutenant Christopher Atiles Cruz, the division’s assistant director.
One intervention led to the confiscation of a black 2023 Toyota Corolla, authorized by prosecutor José Acevedo Acevedo after agent Héctor Torres Duperoy consulted the case under the supervision of Sergeant Miguel González Figueroa. Police said that action is tied to an investigation into the illegal appropriation of an SUV, in coordination with the Department of Justice.
In other interventions, Sergeant Juan Román Delesme seized a black 2022 Toyota Corolla and a gray 2023 BMW XIDR, both held for investigation of their origin and registration. In a separate case, agent Iván Santiago Molina, supervised by Sergeant Adriel Sánchez Rodríguez, investigated a white 2013 Suzuki SX4 whose license plate was reported stolen and did not match the vehicle.
Arecibo prosecutor Daralis Alicea Cordero ordered charges under Article 192 of the Penal Code and the car’s confiscation. On October 28, Judge Yelitza Trinidad Martín of the Arecibo court found probable cause for trial and issued a summons.
