The organization Asesores Financieros Comunitarios (AFC) announced on Friday, October 30 that it will offer a free workshop for small businesses and nonprofits seeking to set a direction for their growth. The training takes place on Tuesday, November 3, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Centro 2G in Naranjito, and AFC urged interested people to register through Eventbrite.

"The training will offer tools to turn ideas into actions and plan the next steps, both for initiatives that are just starting and for those seeking to improve how they operate," said Aida Rivera, director of AFC.

The workshop is aimed at representatives of nonprofits and small businesses located in Aibonito, Barranquitas, Cidra or Naranjito that want to develop or strengthen their business plan. "The training will offer tools to turn ideas into actions and plan the next steps, both for initiatives that are just starting and for those seeking to improve how they operate," said Aida Rivera, director of AFC.

Participants will learn the essential components of a business plan, how to define objectives, identify the audience they serve and organize the resources needed to reach their goals, as well as how to link an organization’s mission or a company’s value proposition with strategies that support sustainability and growth. To participate, the organization or business must be located in one of the four towns; as a general rule, small businesses receiving assistance must have fewer than 50 employees and gross revenues under $1 million.

Attendees should bring a laptop or tablet and have their own internet access (hotspot). Doors open at 8:30 AM and free parking is available.
