Telemundo Puerto Rico has officially opened the Christmas season with the premiere of its new holiday jingle, "Llegó la Fiesta, llegó la Alegría", performed by the musical group Plenéalo. The song draws on the roots and identity of the Puerto Rican jíbaro, rural customs, traditional music, folklore, and Boricua pride. The audiovisual production was filmed in the Charcas neighborhood of Quebradillas, the setting of the well-known Fiesta Jíbara, and brings together Telemundo Puerto Rico’s on-air talent with local residents to recreate a celebration of tradition, music, and holiday spirit.
Participating figures and talent came from the channel’s programs, including Raymond y sus Amigos, Telenoticias, Hoy Día Puerto Rico, Alexandra a las 12, Día a Día, Puerto Rico Gana, Rayos X, Primera Pregunta, Pegaos en la Mañana, Atención, Atención, and Shabum. All took part in a family day with a community that keeps alive the traditions that identify Puerto Rico: the sound of the cuatro, rural music, trovadores, criolla gastronomy, and artisan crafts.
The production was made possible by collaboration among several Telemundo Puerto Rico departments under the direction of the Creative Services and Marketing Department team.
