WAPA Television will air the investigative special 'La Próxima Víctima' on Saturday, November 7 at 6pm, seeking to raise awareness amid the growing violence in Puerto Rico. Hosted by Sylvi Escoto and Yulianna Vargas, the special will present three cases that shocked the island, using testimony from family members, witnesses and experts to examine the circumstances surrounding each tragedy.
For the first time, the program will analyze the mind of a killer serving a sentence of more than 600 years for his crimes, with input from specialists including a forensic psychologist, representatives of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, investigative agents and other professionals in social, criminal and public security behavior analysis. The cases will be recreated using artificial intelligence technology based on the accounts and descriptions given by family members and witnesses, handled with care to preserve respect for victims and their loved ones.
Jimmy Arteaga Grustein, president of Programming, Promotions and Production at Wapa TV and executive producer of the special, said the production aims to go beyond daily headlines to show the human impact of violence, inform, generate conversation and promote reflection rather than alarm. The special will air on Wapa Televisión and Wapa.tv/envivo, and will also be available on Wapa+, Wapa Orlando and Wapa América.
