The GoGoGo Foundation announced on Wednesday the second edition of "Abraza con Amor," its main annual fundraiser, set for Sunday, November 15 at the GoGo Pediatric District on Hostos Avenue in Ponce. The goal is to raise more than $75,000 to expand specialized medical services for children and young people. President Ulises Clavell said the funds will add two new subspecialties to the GoGo Pediatric Institute: pediatric endocrinology and pediatric neurology, and will also advance construction of Vivencias, a senior care center the foundation is developing.
The institute currently serves about 1,500 children and young people monthly and has worked for more than 13 years to improve access to specialized medical care. Singer Jowell, a longtime collaborator, announced a free concert featuring Panama’s Los Rabanes, Michael Stuart, Alberto Stylee, Oscarito Serrano and DJ King Arthur, with children’s acts starting at 3:00 PM, including 9-year-old artist Matthew.
The first 5K "Abraza con Amor: Corre o Camínalo" starts at 4:30 PM, costs $21 to enter, and offers prizes of $150, $100 and $75 in male and female divisions; the first 200 registrants get commemorative shirts, the first 400 gift packages, and the first 500 finishers medals designed by John Harrison, an 11-year-old former patient. Activities run from noon to 9:00 PM, with donation collections in Ponce and San Juan intersections, kiosks, artisans and family entertainment, backed by the Municipality of Ponce, private companies and volunteers. In 2025 the institution saw patients from 50 municipalities; this year, from 47.
