The Cangrejeros de Santurce have improved their record to 15-14 in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) tournament, thanks in part to the leadership of coach David Rosario, who took over for Nelson Colón. With four consecutive wins, the team is now aiming to move up in the Conferencia A standings. They will face the Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas, led by coach Carlos González, in a two-game series that could propel them to third place.
Rosario noted that the Gigantes have a strong combination of players, including Tremont Waters and George Conditt IV. The Cangrejeros have won two games in the series against the Gigantes at the Coliseo Carlos Miguel Mangual, and lead the series 3-1. However, they will be without player Walter Hodge Jr., who has been removed from the team due to a domestic violence accusation, and may also be missing Jordan Howard, who has been absent for personal reasons.
Coach Rosario expressed his uncertainty about Howard's availability, but praised his skills as a player.
