New Rules for Government Pay Raises Take Effect

Updated Jun 22, 2026 · via El Nuevo Día

A new regulation developed by the Fiscal Oversight and Management Board (JSF) and the Office of Administration, Transformation and Human Resources (OATRH) takes effect, defining conditions for public employee salary adjustments. The regulation outlines differentials for workers on detail or with special functions and mechanisms for job classifications to receive higher compensation across the government.

The regulation aims to standardize pay raise conditions for public employees. The JSF and OATRH collaborated on the regulation, which will apply to all government employees.

The new rules will determine eligibility for salary adjustments, special function differentials, and job classification compensation. The regulation's implementation is expected to bring clarity and consistency to the government's pay raise process.
