The charred body found on June 16 in Las Piedras has been identified as 49-year-old Arnaldo González Vélez, a resident of Bayamón. The body was discovered in the back of a completely burned-out truck on PR-948 in the Quebrada Grande sector of the Río neighborhood.
Lieutenant Glenda Román, director of the Homicide Division of the CIC in Humacao, reported the identification, which was made at the Institute of Forensic Sciences. The motive behind the crime is still under investigation.
The discovery was made at approximately 6:18 p.m. on June 16. The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding González Vélez's death.
