Governor Jenniffer González Colón has nominated Francisco A. Quiñones Rivera, the current Secretary of the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, as a superior judge. Quiñones Rivera has previously served as a superior judge for 12 years and as a Deputy Prosecutor II for 10 years.
He also has experience in the public and private sectors, including roles as Superintendent of Public Integrity, Director of the Legal Affairs Office of the Puerto Rico Police, and Commissioner of the Ponce Municipal Police. Additionally, the governor nominated Marieli Paradizo Pérez, a municipal judge, as a superior judge. Quiñones Rivera expressed his gratitude for the nomination, stating that he is honored to serve again as a superior judge.
The nominations have been sent to the Puerto Rico Senate for consideration.
