An investigation is underway into an unfortunate incident that occurred on Tuesday morning in the Villas de Loíza urbanization, Loíza municipality. According to preliminary information from the Police press office, at around 8:00 a.m., a citizen with a license to carry firearms was handling his pistol when it accidentally discharged, causing an injury to one of his hands.
The victim was taken to an emergency room by paramedics and is in stable condition. Agent Joel Rodríguez, assigned to the Loíza precinct, is in charge of the preliminary investigation.
The incident is being treated as an accidental shooting.
