A 19-year-old man, Naim Vélez González, died in a traffic accident on Wednesday night in the Miraflores neighborhood of Arecibo. According to the Puerto Rico Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. on kilometer 2.7 of PR-637.
Vélez González was driving a 2005 green Toyota Echo when he lost control of the vehicle, collided with a parked car, and then crashed into the fences of two residences. He was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
The investigation is being led by Agent Ángel De León Camacho of the Arecibo Highway Patrol Division, along with prosecutor Ramón Allende. The preliminary investigation indicates that Vélez González lost control of the vehicle before the crash.
