An armed man was arrested on Friday morning at the Villa Geogetti Sports Complex in Barceloneta after a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Agents José Mercado Méndez and Sergeant Elizabeth Robles Monroig located a black 2020 Toyota Corolla parked in the green area and arrested a 45-year-old man from the municipality.
A pistol with rifle characteristics (micro draco) loaded with 29 rounds of ammunition and an unspecified amount of controlled substances were seized from the suspect. The case will be referred to the on-duty prosecutor for possible charges.
The arrest was made after the citizen's alert led to the intervention.
