Barceloneta is a coastal town and municipality in Puerto Rico's north region, situated along the Atlantic Ocean about 28 miles from San Juan. It lies east of Arecibo and west of Manatí, and is organized into three barrios plus Barceloneta Pueblo, covering an area of 94.24 km² with a population of roughly 22,657 as of 2020.
Founded in 1881, Barceloneta is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area, linking it administratively and economically to the capital region while retaining its own coastal identity along the north coast.
