The Puerto Rico Department of State announced it is ready to send 55 rescuers to Venezuela and has enabled collection centers in Ponce, Manatí, Mayagüez, Fajardo, Guaynabo, and Patillas to receive and channel donations to assist the affected population. Secretary of State Rosachely Rivera Santana stated that 12 rescuers from the Emergency Management and Disaster Administration Bureau, 11 paramedics, and 32 firefighters could depart at any moment, pending federal authorization.
The collection centers will be open from Sunday, June 28, to Thursday, July 2, with hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Father Enrique 'Kike' Camacho Monserrat assured that all donations will be delivered to those in need through Caritas Internationalis.
