A police negotiator from the Puerto Rico Police Department was injured after being attacked with a knife in Levittown, Toa Baja. The incident occurred on Saturday at around 4:25 pm on Paseo Arpa street in the Levittown urbanization.
Agent Fernando Colón Trinidad was intervening in a situation with an aggressive mental patient when the woman allegedly threw a knife at him, causing a wound on his chin. Colón Trinidad was taken to a hospital in Bayamón, where he received seven stitches and is in stable condition.
The SWAT unit took control of the situation, which ended without further incidents. The police are investigating the case.
