Police Seek Suspect in Armed Robbery Against Elderly Couple in Naranjito

The Puerto Rico Police are seeking the public's help in locating José Cruz Villanueva, 34, who is wanted for his alleged involvement in a home robbery that occurred on April 22, 2025, in the Cedro Arriba neighborhood of Naranjito. The victims were a 74-year-old woman and her 79-year-old husband, who was bedridden at the time of the incident. According to the investigation, two armed individuals broke into the residence, threatening the woman with a firearm and stealing approximately $2,060 in cash and several gold items.

The suspects also threatened the elderly man and later stole a 2021 Toyota RAV4 from the couple's son, who arrived at the scene and was also threatened. Cruz Villanueva faces charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated restriction of freedom, burglary, aggravated illegal appropriation, and violations of the Weapons Law. A court-issued arrest warrant carries a $250,000 bond.

The Police urge anyone with information to call their confidential line at 787-343-2020 or the Bayamón Command at 787-269-2424, extension 1610, with assurances of strict confidentiality. The case is being investigated by agents from the Bayamón Special Arrests Unit.
