A 33-year-old woman, Janice Marie Córdova Sánchez, died in a traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon on PR-686 highway in front of Los Tubos Beach in Manatí. According to the preliminary police report, Córdova Sánchez was driving a black Toyota Corolla at a high speed when she crashed into a gray Ford Escape.
The impact caused her death, while a passenger, 37-year-old Jennifer Maldonado Cornier, was taken to the Medical Center hospital in stable condition. The police report stated that Córdova Sánchez was driving at a speed that did not allow her to control the vehicle, resulting in the collision.
The police did not provide information on the health status of the passenger or if the Ford Escape was occupied at the time of the accident.
