The Venezuelan team participating in the Latin American and Caribbean Little League Baseball 2026 series in Loíza, Puerto Rico, won the championship in the 9-10 age category, defeating Aruba 7-3. The team's arrival in Puerto Rico was delayed due to earthquakes in Venezuela, but they still managed to participate and emerge as champions.
The team was initially supposed to arrive on Thursday but didn't make it until Saturday. The tournament featured teams from various countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.
The municipality of Loíza organized a collection center for essential items, including medications, which were given to the Venezuelan team to take back to their country. Each member of the delegation received an extra bag with these items to bring aid to their country.
