On Saturday afternoon, a robbery at gunpoint occurred at the Jumbo convenience store in Río Piedras, according to the Puerto Rico Police. An employee reported that a man approached her while she was arranging items, announced the robbery, and took an unspecified amount of money from the cash register using force and intimidation. During his escape, the suspect was confronted by the store owner and fired three shots, but did not hit her.
The suspect then fled in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. Agent Andi Landan from the Río Piedras Precinct conducted the preliminary investigation and referred the case to the San Juan Criminal Investigations Corps’ (CIC) Robbery Division for further investigation.
