A 65-year-old man was the victim of a home robbery and kidnapping in the Sonadora neighborhood of Ceiba's Charco Frío sector on Saturday morning. According to preliminary information from the Puerto Rico Police, the victim was surprised by five individuals dressed in black and with their faces covered while he was tending to his animals.
The individuals, who were armed, took a licensed pistol from the victim and tied him up, covering his face. They then transported him to an undetermined location and went to his residence, where they allegedly stole approximately $30,500 in cash, a hard drive from the security camera system, and the residence keys.
After several hours, the victim was released in an area of Naguabo and was able to seek help. He refused medical assistance, and the case was referred to the Robbery Division of the Criminal Investigations Center (CIC) in Fajardo, which continues to investigate.
