Ceiba is a small coastal municipality in the East region of Puerto Rico, on the northeast coast bordering the Atlantic Ocean. It lies south of Fajardo, north of Naguabo, and southeast of Río Grande, about 33 miles (roughly an hour's drive) from San Juan, and is organized into seven barrios plus Ceiba Pueblo.
With a population of approximately 11,307 as of 2020 and an area of 200.28 km², it is a modestly sized town within the wider Fajardo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Founded in 1838, Ceiba takes its name from the ceiba tree, reflecting the island's natural heritage.
