LUMA Energy will perform maintenance work on Sunday, causing temporary power outages in at least six municipalities in Puerto Rico. The work includes strengthening power poles and automating distributors to enhance the resilience of the power grid.
The majority of the work is expected to start around 8:00 am. The affected municipalities are Cabo Rojo, Lares, Caguas, Trujillo Alto, San Juan, and Utuado.
LUMA announced the work through their website and social media, stating that while the work is necessary to reinforce the grid, it may cause temporary interruptions.
