Judge Keishla Torres of the Caguas Tribunal found cause for arrest against Angélica M. Andújar Crespo, 23, for allegedly stealing credit and debit cards, as well as committing abuse against an elderly person in San Lorenzo. According to the police investigation, the incident occurred on June 9, when an elderly woman claimed that Andújar Crespo entered her residence after offering her transportation to a medical appointment through a private company.

The victim stated that while they were inside the house, Andújar Crespo asked for a bottle of water and allegedly took advantage of the moment to remove a cardholder with her identifications and credit and debit cards from her wallet. The Prosecution filed charges for abuse of elderly persons, aggravated illegal appropriation, and illegal use or possession of credit and debit cards. Judge Torres imposed a $9,000 bond, which the defendant did not pay, and she was admitted to the Women's Rehabilitation Complex in Bayamón.

The date for the preliminary hearing has not been disclosed. The elderly woman had initially allowed Andújar Crespo into her home after she offered to drive her to a medical appointment.
