Updated Jul 8, 2026 · via NotiCel

The Highway and Transportation Authority (ACT) announced that as part of the pavement rehabilitation and safety improvement project on PR-60, repaving will continue on the road from Las Piedras to Humacao, from kilometers 0.0 to 4.0. The project has a total investment of $11,091,888.48, with 80.25% federal funds and 19.75% state contribution.

The project aims to rehabilitate the structural pavement by repairing concrete slabs and asphalt access ramps, and also includes safety improvements such as installing signs, guardrails, and pavement markings. The work will generate economic activity by creating 20 direct and 20 indirect jobs, contributing to the development of the construction industry in the region.

The improvements will continue until July 10, 2026, and will include a temporary closure of the access ramp from PR-924 to PR-60. The ACT recommends that citizens use the WAZE app to find alternative routes.
