A earthquake was reported in the southern region of Puerto Rico on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Red Sísmica de Puerto Rico (RSPR). The preliminary magnitude of the earthquake was estimated at 4.51, but was later adjusted to 3.90.
The epicenter occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers. The RSPR stated that there is no tsunami warning, watch, or advisory for Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands.
The earthquake occurred 12.02 kilometers south of Guayanilla, 13.57 kilometers east-southeast of Guánica, and 24.13 kilometers southwest of Ponce.
