A shooting in San Sebastián left one man dead and another wounded, according to a Puerto Rico Police report from Wednesday night. The incident was reported around 11:45 p.m. on Flamboyán Street in the El Culebrina urbanización after a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted authorities to gunfire in the area. Police arriving at the scene found two men with gunshot wounds to various parts of their bodies; one later died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.
The deceased was identified as Enrique Vargas Faris, 33, a resident of San Sebastián. The second man remains under medical care, though his current condition is unknown. Agents from the Homicide Division of the Aguadilla area, along with the on-duty prosecutor, took charge of the investigation.
The report notes that as of Wednesday, police had recorded 251 homicides so far this year, 18 more than the 233 registered by the same date in 2025.
