On Friday afternoon, police officers found the decomposed body of an elderly woman in a residence in the Las Américas urbanization in the San Juan metropolitan area. The officers also found the woman's adult son, who has an unspecified physical disability, next to her body.
A 9-1-1 emergency call at 1:30 p.m. alerted authorities about an elderly woman who could not be contacted by family members. Upon arrival, officers located the woman, who had died.
The cause and manner of death have not been indicated. The woman's name has not been released.
