Puerto Rico's participation in the PanAm Aquatics Swimming Championship has yielded its first medalists. The delegation started strong in the 100-meter breaststroke event, showcasing the talent, preparation, and commitment of the athletes representing Puerto Rico.
Marcos Cabrera won gold in the 100m breaststroke for the 16-18 age category, while Zaymihaly Zalduondo took silver in the 13-15 age category with a time of 1:16.70, setting a national record. Hailey Preuss also won gold in the 100m breaststroke for the 19 and older age category.
The Puerto Rican Swimming Federation congratulated the athletes, acknowledging the effort of the athletes, coaches, clubs, and families. Other notable results include Camila Romero's 10th place finish in the 100m butterfly with a time of 1:10.35, and the mixed 4x100 medley relay team's sixth place finish with a time of 4:28.77.
