A man was attacked by a reticulated python in the Cedro Arriba neighborhood of Naranjito, according to José Luis Morales, a snake hunter known as 'Gongo Fishing'. The man was bitten on the finger while collecting food for his animals and did not notice the snake's presence.
The bite resulted in an open wound that required stitches. Morales warned the public to be alert and cautious, as this time of year is when these species are most active.
He also offered his services, saying that people can call him if they encounter these animals.
