Puerto Rico Police are investigating a shooting that injured a minor early Tuesday in Fajardo. The incident was reported around 12:14 a.m. at the Pedro Rosario Nieves public housing project.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were alerted by a hospital that a 15-year-old boy had been admitted with a bullet wound to his left ear area. The boy's mother told police that as she was leaving her apartment with her children, she heard several gunshots coming from a moving vehicle, and her son was struck.
The teen was taken to a nearby hospital, where the attending physician on duty reported he was in stable condition. The case has been referred to the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) in Fajardo, where agent Jorge Encarnación will continue handling the investigation.
