A 42-year-old female cyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Wednesday in Vieques. The incident occurred at around 8:45 am on PR-997, kilometer 4.2, in the Destino neighborhood, when a Ford F-250 truck collided with the cyclist.
The woman was taken to a hospital for medical attention, according to the Puerto Rico Police. The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities during the investigation.
The Highway Patrol Division, along with the on-duty prosecutor, is handling the investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident.
