A 63-year-old woman was shot in the back while at a business in the Jaime L. Drew urbanization in Ponce, according to a preliminary report. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, and police were alerted by a 9-1-1 call.
The woman reported feeling a blow to her back while at the establishment and realized she was injured. She was taken to a local hospital by paramedics and treated by a doctor, who diagnosed a gunshot wound to the upper right side of her back. Her condition is stable.
The investigation is ongoing under the Ponce CIC (Cuerpo de Investigaciones Criminales).
