Miguel A. Romero Lugo, the mayor of San Juan, presented the theatrical production 'Romeo y Julieta Forever: Salseros vs. Merengueros' to representatives of 13 Ibero-American cities.
The play, which featured participants from the nine Municipal Centers for the Elderly alongside professional actors, was part of the third day of the Second Meeting of the Sectoral Committee on Social Inclusion and Human Mobility of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities. The production, held at the Antonio Paoli Festival Hall of the Luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center, allowed seniors to share their talent with an international audience and become ambassadors for San Juan's active aging model.
Mayor Romero Lugo stated that San Juan's growing senior population requires the development of more services and programs for their well-being, and the municipality is committed to offering innovative and enriching alternatives for seniors to stay active and participate in the city's cultural and community life.
